A true hidden gem, gourmet restaurant Aramburu is nestled in Recoleta, an upscale neighborhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Chef and owner Gonzalo Aramburu chose this place to establish himself and honor local culture and Argentine products. In the famous Plaza San Francisco, Casa Gangotena brings new life to this mansion that once belonged to one of Quito’s most illustrious and influential families. Its neoclassical architecture, recognized as part of the Old Town’s UNESCO World Heritage status, wraps around a charming patio adorned with palm trees and an original fountain.
Inside, rays from the Andean sun bathe the art deco-style rooms in shimmering light. Reflecting the splendor and elegance of a golden age, they boast antique mirrors, painted ceilings, and sumptuous wall frescoes.

This summer pavilion, dating back to the Belle Époque, is tucked away in the heart of the Barranco district, a protected historic area next to the Pacific Ocean. Marble, exotic woods, a beautifully columned white façade, open balconies and skyhigh ceilings lit by skylights in the roofs – Lima teatinas – give it a charm all of its own. Its renovation was entrusted to sculptors from the Fine Arts Academy and to an Italian cabinetmaker with a view to preserving and showcasing its rich architectural heritage. Hotel B draws its inspiration from the Bohemian atmosphere of the surrounding district and exhibits works by contemporary Peruvian artists, adding to the hotel’s character.
