Legend has it that Jean Cocteau designed the staircase of the Château de Courcelles... Regardless of whether it is true, this rumour speaks volumes about the attention to detail in this palace where Jean-Jacques Rousseau once liked to stroll in the French garden and French literary figures Racine, La Fontaine and Dumas stayed between Paris, the Aisne and the Champagne. La Table de Courcelles

Once home to a large family of Provençal humanists, Château de Fonscolombe has preserved its soul. Its salons of Genoa leather and Chinese wallpaper still resonate with their lively character. The park, with paths lined by majestic trees, is the fantastic oeuvre of a lineage of botanists. As for the restaurant La Table de l'Orangerie, it too has embraced the chic, rustic and Provençal charm of the estate. La Table de L’Orangerie

Château de la Gaude offers epicureans a sense of escape just ten minutes from the center of Aix-en-Provence. The Sainte-Victoire mountain seems to watch over this 18th-century estate, which features formal gardens classified as historic monuments–just like the main building. Le Art

The towers of this château are so close to the river that it feels as if they are floating on it. Located between the Lot, known as the “land of marvels”, and the Dordogne, home to more than one thousand châteaux, the Château de la Treyne is the ideal base from which to set off and explore this fascinating region. The Chef adapts the cuisine of the terroir, based on foie gras or lamb from the Causses du Quercy nature park. Protectors of an undeniable charm, ceilings, floors, and antique woodwork have been conserved and are boldly married with the contemporary decors of the rooms, as well as works of art scattered throughout the hotel: it was indeed designed to be a genuine cultural space. At the restaurant, the chef produces a creative and "astounding" cuisine emphasizing local and seasonal products.

At the tender age of just seven years old, Chef Philippe Chevrier already knew he would become a chef, having inherited a passion for cooking from his mother and grandmother, who prepared regional, family-style, hearty cuisine. Philippe Chevrier surrounds himself with a talented team, including chef François Periers and pastry chef Manuel Pereira, who work with the finest ingredients. This former winegrower's farm, which dates to the 16th century, also offers guest rooms that combine timeless charm with contemporary touches.

Locguénolé is located next to the dark waters of a sea inlet in the heart of a land of legends. Using fresh produce from his own farm, Le Peracciole, Iaccarino creates simple Mediterranean marvels, such as swordfish with chickpeas and thyme, goatfish with rosemary and cucumber, and pasta with clams and courgettes. For Yohann and Stéphanie Chapuis, their bet has paid off. They have re-ignited the flame of this legendary restaurant in Tournus by honouring Jean Ducloux, the patron saint of Burgundy gastronomy.
Trained in the kitchens of many a historic Relais & Châteaux, chef Yohann has taken traditional cuisine and infused it with finesse and inventiveness, designing dishes by looking for the subtlest way to bring out the distinctive flavour of each ingredient, be it escargots or frog legs. The quick arrival of a Michelin star only reinforced the confidence and enthusiasm of the team. It was a fete that has nourished their desire for longevity at this restaurant where you can take pleasure in staying at the table.

Restaurant Greuze - L'Ecrin de Yohann Chapuis

When, in 1984, Guy Lassausaie (Best Craftsman of France) took over a the restaurant founded eighty years earlier by his great-grandfather, he became the fourth generation in the kitchen of this former coaching inn. He brings to this family heritage his experience of top restaurants and now serves dishes which blend traditional Lyon cuisine with ideas picked up on his travels: sea bass fillet, rye and caviar pancake and fine artichoke purée or loin of suckling pig with a mango dressing – his combinations of ingredients are sometimes surprising, and always successful! The restaurant’s contemporary décor, with canvases by Lyon painter Jean Fusaro, provides the perfect setting in which to enjoy them.
